Hi, my name is Desiree Hart.
I have always had a passion for painting and photographing wildlife with a special love of Birds.
Reference material is gathered on location through sketching and photography.
Many visits to Africa has given me a wonderful collection of Big
Game images to work with. Our British wildlife is also a continuous source of inspiration. Being a member of the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust enables me to spend much of my spare time sketching at the Arundel Centre. I am a fundraiser for the trust and have been Artist in Residence. What a great way to give something back and help such a worthy cause. I have always admired the artwork of the founder, Sir Peter Scott.
My work is collected as far as Australia and I'm delighted to have won many awards, including 5 times selected for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the year and exhibited at London's Mall Gallery.
I exhibit at Country Shows and Fairs - Art society exhibitions and The Montague Gallery in Worthing. Exhibitions at Colonnade House in Worthing allows me to show my work ‘straight from the easel’ When I exhibit at country shows I always demonstrate and happy to talk about my work and inspirations.
I paint in Oil - Acrylic - Pastel - Watercolour and Graphite.
As well as painting in a traditional style many of my watercolours and photographs have a more contemporary feel to more modern surroundings.
