Hello, my name is Hayley Smith and I am a self taught artist and have been painting and drawing since I bought my first set of watercolours at 18 years old. Over the past thirty years since leaving college I have worked, backpacked Australia, had five children, run my own chain of inns with my husband and painted whenever I had the opportunity. I now know that art is my passion and there isn’t a day that goes by when I am not thinking of what I am going to do next. Having been lucky enough to travel around the world I have found that everywhere I go I see real beauty in landscapes and animals, at home or abroad.
I have a real passion for lots of colour and a fascination with the sun so I try and reflect this in my paintings even when they are stormy !! I see life as a learning journey so my styles and ideas and the media I use is constantly changing and evolving just as the world is around me.
