I
make paintings and prints of everyday domestic objects such as rusty enamel
jugs and garden tools as well as architectural details, birds and fish which
are usually painted life-size.
I also make images of the sea - which inspired me to move to the south coast 14 years ago. I like to paint the ocean from the nearest wave to the distant horizon and often start painting on the beach and finish them later in the studio. Large canvases are created using an energy like the ocean itself, with paint dripped, poured and scraped back in a state of constant change between ebb and flow.
