My name is Ann Marie Whitton and I am a professional artist living in St Albans Hertfordshire.
I draw and paint using bright colourful watercolour washes within loose and quirky black lines. I love to paint landscapes, seascapes, sailing boats, women style portraits from the Renaissance period, flowers and woodlands. Acylic painting features in my art too and they tend to be very bold and bright.
Many of my holidays are used to make my art, as I love the sea and land. In Britain we have many wonderful buildings of historic importance that influence my drawing.
I am a profound printmaker too, and I explore themes of fairy tales, dresses, landscape, seascape, animals, birds and people. My favourite techniques are making linocuts and collagraph prints. (Collagraph is a collage style plate that is printed)
In my mixed media art I play around with tissue and wrapping papers, card, acrylic paint, oil pastels, pens, charcoal, inks and recycled cardboard. Hence I work looks very textured.
Many people love my art for it's bright and bold colours.
I sell my originals on my website and I exhibit in St Albans and Norfolk.
I am a member of Herts Visual Arts.
