Using stencils, rollers and relief printmaking processes I make print-based Paintings (one-off, unique pieces) and small editions of Original Prints.
Ideas start with observational drawing in sketchbooks. They are are developed into images that reflect an eye for detail with an imaginative interpretation. Particular interests include garden ponds, aquariums and fish, butterflies and insects and collections of objects (buttons, brass lady-bells, shells and tiny toys).
My art training was at The North Wales College of Art and Design (Glyndwr Uni) graduating in 1999 with 1st Class Hons in Design (Illustration)
For two years I was Artist-in Residence at Chester Zoo. Residencies and projects continue to be an important part of my practice, and I'm always on the look-out for opportunities to fill sketchbooks.
Alongside my studio practice I undertake educational printmaking projects in schools and community groups.
