I was born in Coventry in 1966. I graduated from Camberwell School of Art in London in 1989 with BA (Hons) in Graphic Design and Illustration. I lived and worked as a freelance scenic designer and artist until moving to Japan in 1990. I returned to London in 1992 to continue freelance work then moved to mid Wales in 2000 where I continue to live and work.
I have exhibited widely within the UK and also in Japan. I have had recent exhibitions and art sales in Montgomery and my most recent work is inspired by the Kerry Ridgeway and surrounding landscape. I have had two books published by Fire Horse Books: Zoo. Pictures and Poems. Illustrations and poems by the artist and Along an Ancient Track. Paintings and images inspired by the Kerry Ridgeway.
I paint primarily in watercolour and acrylics although I do use oils and mixed media. I enjoy travelling and endeavour to keep journals and sketchbooks of my travels and daily experiences in response to the environments, people and places I interact with.
I am exploring the use of collaging digital images with sketches and textures to create work with mood, light and energy.
