A brief Bio of Sarah Macdonald
Australian-born (1978).
In 1995 Sarah made the decision to live with her father in the UK, where she could explore her passion for the arts. She embarked on her artistic journey by enrolling in a 2-year BTEC program in Graphic Design at Oxford.
After completing her initial studies, Sarah relocated to London to further hone her skills in Graphic Design. She enrolled at Camberwell College of Arts, which is part of the prestigious London Institute. Her 4 years at the institution provided her with valuable insights and knowledge in a variety of mark making disciplines.
Following her graduation, Sarah embraced the challenges of maintaining her creative pursuits while sustaining a livelihood. She delved into the world of self-employment, working as a Graphic Designer for a period of 5 years. This allowed her to exercise her artistic talents and develop her professional experience within the design industry.
In addition to her graphic design work, Sarah also found herself drawn to the construction industry. She embarked on a new venture as a self-employed painter and decorator, immersing herself in the world of construction for 14-years. This experience provided her with diverse skills and a unique perspective on creativity within a different context.
Sarah took on another significant role—that of a single mother. Balancing the responsibilities of raising a child and pursuing her career presented its own set of challenges. However, Sarah embraced this role with dedication and love, cherishing the joy that is her daughter Roslyn.
Simultainiously, throughout her whole life Sarah has and will always paint - Wild West Works has become an embodiment of this.
