I am a painter,maker and photographer living and working on the borders of Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.After gaining a degree in Fine Art I studied art abroad before moving to my current home and studio more than 25 years ago.
I create highly textured wall art pieces that reflect my love and joy for the countryside that surrounds my home and studio.I work intuitively and instinctively mainly on canvas using lots of different paints and collage materials. My work is very textured and I carefully build up layer upon layer of texture and colour until I have the look and finish that I want. Acrylic paints,metal leaf,textures pastes and seaglass are amongst my favourite materials to use.I am constantly surprised and moved by nature and love to make art that reflects my joy and that also creates a sense of place and belonging. I am also an avid photographer and use my camera to view my ever changing rural surroundings and make images that inspire me.
I have undertaken many commissions for customers abroad and it gives me great pleasure to know that my original art pieces are hanging in homes around the world.
