Sheena gained her Diploma at Edinburgh College of Art. She was craftsman in residence in Linlithgow then worked as a furniture designer until she decided to return to painting with the move to Haddington. She tutors at the Poldrate Arts and Crafts Centre, Haddington and is a guest artist for workshops at the Edinburgh Drawing School. She supports her local cooperative hub Made in East Lothian in Haddington.
Her first love is landscape. She likes to prepare sketches and paintings on site. However she is happy to take commissions using photographs when necessary.
She has been commissioned for paintings which have traveled all over the world. She also draws and paints portraits and still life.
Her work has been described as ‘atmospheric and evocative’, often showing the effect of light on water and land.
