I moved to Norfolk in the UK with my husband, as he retired in 2018, to the village of Garboldisham (pronounced 'Garblesham' by the locals). The village borders the county of Suffolk, so we have access to the best of both counties.
We are situated within an area referred to as Breckland, a term meaning heathland, but this harks back to a time gone by and some heathland is now Forest. The nearest large forest to us is Thetford and we are fortunate enough to live close to Knettishall Heath which is grazed by some beautiful Exmoor ponies! We are also surrounded by ancient fens with their own unique history, character, mystique and charm, which we have yet to explore in depth.
In the time since we moved here, we have been kept very busy working on our 300 year old ex public house and, as result, my work hasn't yet evolved to include the many beauties of the countryside surrounding us, but this is soon set to change and will be represented in the works seen here.
I have been an artist and teacher of art in excess of 35 years and continue to enjoy doing both in my new suroundings. I am a Professional Associate of the SAA; https://www.saa.co.uk
I work in many different mediums including watercolour, pastels, acrylics and mixed media and my favourite themes are nearly always animals such as dogs, hares and birds, but I also enjoy producing landscapes, florals and slightly more abstract subjects.
