I am an artist based in Fowey, Cornwall. I produce my work in my studio here. I paint using acrylic paint on a deep edged box canvas to create immediate renditions of a scene. I sell original paintings, prings and art cards in several galleries and online.
I am particularly interested in reflected light effects of sunshine, giving sparkling reflections and silhouettes, resulting in strong contrasting colours and dynamic shapes, for a more ‘abstract’ realisation of the subject matter, flashes of colour resonate through the pictures. I concentrate on painting the light around the object, I feel the ‘light’ then becomes the subject of the painting, I have a real sense of ‘painting the light’ when creating these works.
