I paint fast, direct from nature (sometimes very fast if the subject is needed for supper), with special attention to colour, rhythm and pattern. The latter may be a hangover from my fashion days. I am inspired by things I chance to see in my daily life, but also find that the more one looks at something the more beautiful it becomes – nearly always.
I also teach art, illustrate, and am currently researching the dress of the Bronze Age.
