Based in rural Wiltshire, Simone's work is inspired by the unique landscape that surrounds her.
Much of her work is taken from the experience of waliking; observing clumps of trees on The Ridgeway or the big dramatic skies and ancient horizons that dominate this area of outstanding beauty.
Most of her work is in oil on hand-stretched Belgian linen. She also has limited edition Gicl�e Prints of certain images (see www.simonedawood.com for more information). Recently she has been experimenting with etching and silkscreen printing.
A Londoner at heart, she tries to bring a different perspective and vision through her paintings - perhaps that element of surprise, delight and wonder that comes through responding to the natural world around her.
In Summer 2017 Simone will be taking part in Marlborough Open Studios www.marlboroughopenstudios.co.uk - a stunning art trail of over 50 artists who open up their Studios every weekend throughout July.
