My inspiration for my art comes from the natural world; animals, natural textures, landscapes and I am especially drawn to the quality of light in a potential painting. I mostly use drawing techniques; pencils, ink and pastels but I also enjoy painting, using acrylics and watercolour. I am a Founder (Gold) member of the UK Coloured Pencil Society.
I have been part of a couple of colaborative exhibitions and enter my work in a number of local shows and every year I enter the Coloured Pencil Society's prestigious annual exhibition which has won me a number of awards, including 'Best in Show' and 'Best Landscape' with 'Dartmoor Magic' in the 2017 show.
I started my art career as an illustrator, drawing wildlife images for information panels for the Environment Agency, National Trust, English Nature, and various Wildlife Trusts etc. I have also done the artwork for children's educational games which was great fun. I take commissions many of which are of people's pets but I am happy to undertake whatever is required.
