Hello, I'm Rachel and I live in Bristol with my partner and my cats.
I've never had any formal training. My mum taught me the basics of sewing (which I loved straight away) and I did a one day course to learn how to mosaic (again loved it straight away!)
The fabric I use is curtain and upholstery off cuts which were all due to go to landfill. I love the idea of being able to make something useful and beautiful from a waste product.
The mosaic numbers are made with handcut glass tiles and the slate backing is from my local reclamation yard and has had a previous life as part of a roof.
Photography has come about accidently. As lfe has become more internet based I realised I needed to up my game with my product shots. Now I spend quite a bit of time collecting 'bits' while out walking that will enhance my product photos.
I have a great love for the outdoors. I enjoy long walks by the river and long cycle rides in the countryside, both being a fantastic inspiration for me. I also love to spend as much of my spare time as I can in the garden growing a large range of flowers and fruits.
