Val Lawson brings beautiful vibrant colours into your life with her expressive abstract art.
Her paintings are mainly in acrylics or mixed media, although she enjoys experimenting with different ways of working. For Val, making art is playing and trying out new ideas. She often works on several paintings at one time, moving from one to the next as each develops, intuitively bulding up the images with layers of drawing, collage, printing, painting and various media.
Her paintings, inspired by the world around us, aim to share the feelings she experiences, triggered by events past and present.
As an active member of Herts Visual Arts, Val's work is exhibited regularly at local art events and is on show at galleries in Shefford, Stevenage, Hatfield, Hitchin and Potters Bar.
Val runs a informal art group in the local community hall, runs workshops, and gives demos and talks about her art practice; she is always happy to discuss her availability for commissions and demonstrations.
