Lindis obtained a BA honours degree in Fine Art at Leeds University in 1971 and maintained a small but steady output of paintings throughout most of her working life. Since her retirement in 2011 she has increased her involvement in local exhibitions, craft fairs and in selling cards and original paintings in local gallery/shops.
Her preference is landscape painting, preferably "en plein air" if possible and mainly in watercolour but sometimes in pastel; she also paints in oil and acrylic from time to time. She finds watercolour an exciting medium for capturing the scene in a fresh way, aiming to express the atmosphere of the scene rather than just its topography, and the excitement of coming across a new view or a view in different light and weather conditions.
