LoveFromTheArtist.org CIC is pleased to be working with our friends at the WI to try and raise some contribution to the Saving Denman Appeal through card sales via the Denman Appeal Cards page.
Founded in 1948, Denman is the learning centre for the WI. It offers a wealth of opportunities to learn new skills on day schools and short residential courses in the field of cookery, craft and lifestyle. Set in the picturesque village of Marcham, near Oxford, the Georgian mansion and 17 acres of grounds provide a relaxing environment for learning and anyone is welcome to book a course – members or non-members, women and men!
Since the news of the college's financial position was announced at Autumn National Council in 2015, many WI members have expressed their wishes to raise funds to support the future of Denman. A fundraising initiative was brought to the Denman Committee by a WI member from Wiltshire, Christine Hounslow, who is a Denman Ambassador and Guide. As a result the NFWI Board of Trustees agreed that Christine will take on a leading role in the appeal and will be a focal point for feedback. This appeal is aimed at WI federations, WIs and individuals. The money raised will be used for ongoing maintenance of the buildings and grounds.
