I have drawn all my life and in 2013 turned my passion from a hobby into a business. I specialise in portraiture of both pets and people and like to work with commissions. I also sell original artworks and recently joined Artist Network Bedfordshire which has given me the opportunity to take part in more exhibitions locally.
When I am not working on commissions my artworks are often based on my love of british wild flowers, nature and wildlife. I enjoy seeing how these change through the seasons. Favoured subjects are british birds and more recently butterflies and dragonflies. I like to take elements of what I see and find most pleasing and put them together to make my own compositions. The aim of my artwork is not to produce artwork that is like photograph but more decorative uplifting pieces that brings a little of british nature into your home.
My favoured media are coloured pencil and acrylic paint. Many of my paintings combine some brush and palette knife work. I like to produce quite textured pieces often using relief paste to give a deeper texture to my work whilst using some brush work to keep an element of detail.
As well as being a member of Artist Network Bedfordshire I am also a member of Leighton Buzzard Art Society. In addition to exhibiting with ANB and LBAS I sell work locally and attend other arts and craft events including Mentmore Arts Festival and St Botolph’s Festival of local arts and crafts.
